4. Comedy Works - Downtown: Wrist Deep, Landmark: MICHAEL WINSLOW
Comedy Works Downtown: WRIST DEEP PRODUCTIONS Dates July 3rd The members of Wrist Deep Productions met four years ago performing at open-mics in dive bars and the Denver comedy scene hasn’t been the same since. Sharing an aggressive, intelligent sensibility toward stand-up, Wrist Deep has matured into a four-headed comedy monster capable of devouring an entire village of PBR, and occasionally even audiences. Since 2004, Wrist Deep has hosted the Squire Lounge Open-Mic, consistently voted “Best Comedy Open Mic” by Denver’s alt-weekly, Westword. Despite the fact that the show takes place on a Tuesday and typically doesn’t start until after eleven, it’s the bar’s busiest night. Comedy Works Landmark: MICHAEL WINSLOW PG-13, ALL AGES SHOWS Fri. July 3rd Michael, a master of vocal gymnastics, can imitate over 1000 sound effects using his voice alone. Whether he is recreating the frenzy of Jimi Hendrix playing the guitar, or the roar of a jet plane, his talent is truly remarkable and his versatility admirable and enjoyable for everyone! Director Hugh Wilson and producer Paul Manslanski came to see Michael perform at the Long Beach Theater where he was opening for the incomparable Count Basie & his Orquestra. Needless to say, Wilson and Manslanski were blown away! They immediately wrote him into the script of the unforgettable Police Academy I through VII. As soon as this movie came out and it became an instant success, so did Michael! www.comedyworks.com

Johnny Depp and Christian Bale emerge from two of the biggest blockbuster series of all time (Pirates of the Caribbean and Batman, respectively) to star in this crime drama from HEAT's Michael Mann. Depp stars as legendary gangster John Dillinger, while Bale plays FBI agent Melvin Purvis.

One night in San Francisco after a long night of partying, Barclay and his friends began to make up fake European DJ names. Justin Martin Justin Martin is one of the few house DJs that successfully bridges the gap between being commercially successful and staying true to the underground. His sound has been described as both melodic and tough, with releases ranging from the dynamic “Cicada” on dirtybird to the slamming “Magnificent” remix for Iz and Diz on OM records.  Beta Nightclub is located at 1909 Blake St. For more information on this venue visit www.betanightclub.com.

8. Andy Moor @ Vinyl
7/4/2009. Andy Moor will need no introduction to the majority of readers, currently sitting at number 18 in the world DJ poll, producer and remixer to the stars and a member of numerous acts including Leama & Moor, Tilt and Whiteroom to name a few. A mixture of hard work, determination and raw talent has catapulted Andy to the status as one of the most definitive and influential artists in the dance music scene today, although to pigeonhole him into any musical category would be a crime in itself.  Vinyl is located at 1082 Broadway. For more information on this venue visit www.coclubs.com.

9. Cowboy Junkies and Son Volt @ Ogden Theatre
7/8/2009. Despite its title, the new Cowboy Junkies album, At the End of Paths Taken, is as much about new beginnings as it is about endings. It is also about human connections, the struggle to sustain those connections over time, and the complexities that can arise even when those connections are maintained. It is, in other words, a classic Cowboy Junkies album - a suite of smart, richly textured songs that value subtlety over broad, generic strokes, songs that prize insight and casual revelations over easily digestible cliches. Date: Wed, Jul 8, 2009 Showtime: 8:00 PM Days until show: 54 Ages: 16 & Over  Ogden Theatre is located at 935 East Colfax Ave.. For more information on this venue call 303.830.2525.
