Claude VonStroke
Claude VonStroke What started as a fake name and small booking at a friend’s birthday party has spiraled into an international DJ career for Claude VonStroke (aka Barclay Crenshaw.) One night in San Francisco after a long night of partying, Barclay and his friends began to make up fake European DJ names.
Justin Martin
Justin Martin is one of the few house DJs that successfully bridges the gap between being commercially successful and staying true to the underground. His sound has been described as both melodic and tough, with releases ranging from the dynamic “Cicada” on dirtybird to the slamming “Magnificent” remix for Iz and Diz on OM records. |

Andy Moor will need no introduction to the majority of readers, currently sitting at number 18 in the world DJ poll, producer and remixer to the stars and a member of numerous acts including Leama & Moor, Tilt and Whiteroom to name a few. A mixture of hard work, determination and raw talent has catapulted Andy to the status as one of the most definitive and influential artists in the dance music scene today, although to pigeonhole him into any musical category would be a crime in itself. |

Cowboy Junkies and Son Volt |
Ogden Theatre |
Despite its title, the new Cowboy Junkies album, At the End of Paths Taken, is as much about new beginnings as it is about endings. It is also about human connections, the struggle to sustain those connections over time, and the complexities that can arise even when those connections are maintained. It is, in other words, a classic Cowboy Junkies album - a suite of smart, richly textured songs that value subtlety over broad, generic strokes, songs that prize insight and casual revelations over easily digestible cliches.

Death Cab For Cutie with Andrew Bird & Ra Ra Riot |
Red Rocks Amphitheater |
AEG Live is thrilled to announce DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE with special guests ANDREW BIRD and RA RA RIOT performing live at Red Rocks Amphitheatre Tuesday, July 14, 2009.
Just prior to completion of the 2000 follow-up We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes, Good left the group and was replaced by drummer Michael Schorr. In fall 2000, the band released the Forbidden Love EP. A solid selection of new cuts were found on The Photo Album the next year. In 2003, Eureka Farm's Jason McGerr joined the group and the band's stunning fourth album Transatlanticism appeared in October. While touring in support of that album in spring 2004, Death Cab for Cutie recorded seven brand new tracks. The John Byrd E.P., which was named for the band's touring sound engineer John Byrd, was issued on Barsuk in March 2005. After a lengthy courtship with Barsuk, the group inked a deal with Atlantic and released their label debut, Plans, in August of 2005. It sold nearly 90,000 copies during its first week of release, entering the US album chart at number four. After spending much of 2006 in the midst of a turbulent tour cycle surrounding their RIAA platinum, Grammy-nominated album Plans, the band took a well-deserved break during the first part of 2007. If Plans was a collection of firsts – Death Cab’s first album for a major label; the first disc to feature songwriting contributions from someone other than Gibbard; the first Death Cab disc recorded with the same drummer as the one before – Narrow Stairs, released in May 2008, feels more like home.

Journey with Heart |
Red Rocks Amphitheater |
Journey is Neal Schon (guitar), Jonathan Cain (keyboards), Ross Valory (bass), Deen Castronovo (drums) and lead singer Arnel Pineda. Pineda had videos of himself performing cover songs by Journey, Survivor, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Air Supply, The Eagles, Kenny Loggins and other popular acts from the 70s, 80s and 90s on YouTube.com in 2007. In June of that year Neal Schon contacted a longtime fan and friend of Pineda who uploaded many of these videos, to ask for Pineda's contact information. Schon sent an e-mail to Pineda inviting him to audition for lead singer of Journey. Pineda initially dismissed the e-mail as a hoax, but after being persuaded, he finally replied to Schon's e-mail. Ten minutes later, Pineda received a phone call from Schon. Pineda, along with his manager, flew to California for a two-day audition. The star-struck Pineda was welcomed warmly but he described the audition as "nerve-wracking, tense". In December 2007 Pineda was announced as the lead singer of Journey. Pineda debuted as the lead singer of Journey on in February 2008 at the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Viña del Mar, Chile. Journey's first album with Pineda, "Revelation" debuted at No. 5 in the Billboard Top 200 album charts in the week following its release (released June 3, 2008), and remained in the Top 20 for 6 weeks. It was certified gold by RIAA with more than 336,000 units sold within the first few days. It achieved platinum status by October 1, 2008. In an interview soon after Pineda joined the band, Neal Schon said, "We feel reborn. I think there’s a lot of chemistry among the five of us.” In 2009 Journey embarked on a world tour accompanying the release of "Revelation.”

STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9) |
Red Rocks Amphitheater |
STS9 thrives on friction. This may be surprising coming from five musicians who think of themselves as a collective as much as a band. But consider the title of the California-based outfit’s long-awaited fourth album: Peaceblaster. The two words rub against each other to create an image that is simultaneously utopian and violent, fraught with the very contradiction that permeates America circa now. “America is this beautiful, incredible place, but it has a dark underbelly,” bassist David Murphy says. “And even on Peaceblaster’s most ethereal songs, there’s a darkness that reflects what’s going on in society-it ain’t all bad, but it ain’t all good.”
Armed with a batch of song ideas and fueled by the tension of the times, the band (which in addition to Brown and Murphy, features percussionist Jeffree Lerner, keyboardist David Phipps, and Zach Velmer on drums) took a break from their masochistic touring schedule and holed up in their recording studio, determined to make the strongest album of their career.

Counting Crows with Augustana plus special guests |
Red Rocks Amphitheater |
AEG Live is thrilled to announce COUNTING CROWS with AUGUSTANA plus special guests to be announced performing live at Red Rocks Amphitheatre Wednesday, July 29, 2009.
Counting Crows is one of those bands you follow for the long haul. For those that first heard them opening for Bob Dylan long ago, or subbing for Van Morrison one memorable night at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, much of the soundtrack of our times comes from the Crows -- from their vivid musical landscapes as well as the feverish brilliance of singer/songwriter Adam Duritz.
Counting Crows hail from the San Francisco Bay area and consist of Adam Duritz (vocals), David Bryson (guitar), Charles Gillingham (keyboards), David Immergluck (guitar), Dan Vickrey (guitar), Jim Bogios (drums), and Millard Powers (bass). Counting Crows success dates back to their 1993 debut release August And Everything After and the hit single “Mr. Jones.” Subsequent albums include Recovering the Satellites (1996); Across A Wire: Live in NY (1998); This Desert Life (1999) and Hard Candy (2002) which featured the band’s Top 10 cover of Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi”. Additional success included a # 1 hit with the song “Accidentally In Love,” which was featured on the Shrek 2 soundtrack, as well as nominations in 2005 for a Grammy Award, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award for the track.
In 2004 the band released their first ever “Best Of” set Films About Ghosts which featured songs from every phase of Counting Crows’ recording career, followed by the live album *New Amsterdam: Live at Heineken Music Hall 2003, which appeared in 2006. Counting Crows most recent studio album, Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings, was released in March of 2007. Counting Crows has sold over 20 million records worldwide.

Heaven and Hell Take The Devil on the Road |
Red Rocks Amphitheater |
Heaven & Hell, the quartet of Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinny Appice, will bring their wicked world tour to North America for a select number of shows this August. The band will start their summer headlining music festivals across Europe before bringing their macabre stage show of metal classics to North America starting on August 7 in Vancouver. There will be a presale for all shows, except Baltimore, beginning May 6 at 10AM local time. Coheed And Cambria will provide support on all shows except the Seattle date on August 8.
On April 28, Heaven & Hell released their first album in 17 years THE DEVIL YOU KNOW and the highly anticipated set did not disappoint. Revolver Magazine declared it “an album of ageless metal anthems” and The Associated Press praised its “bone-crunching riffs and power chords that can loosen the phlegm in your chest.” The band plans to mix in several tracks from THE DEVIL YOU KNOW into their set of Dio-era Black Sabbath classics.
Heaven & Hell began writing for THE DEVIL YOU KNOW last year, first in England at Iommi’s home studio and later in Los Angeles at Dio’s studio. “The band had gotten too good to just walk away,” Dio says. “We wanted to show people that we were still capable of giving them new music that measured up to what we’d done in the past.” With that goal in mind, the band hit the Rockfield Studios in Wales last winter and the result is the 10-song epic THE DEVIL YOU KNOW

Yonder Mountain String Band /- Xavier Rudd |
Red Rocks Amphitheater |
Yonder Mountain String Band is proud to celebrate the highly anticipated release of their upcoming studio album with their hometown fans on August 28th at the beautiful Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO. Everyone who buys a ticket to the Red Rocks show will receive a free copy of the album as they leave the show and will be the first to hear the record before its national release on Sept. 1.
In between a busy touring schedule, the band has been ducking back to LA to record with producer Tom Rothrock (Elliot Smith, Beck), continuing the collaboration from their last self-titled studio record. The record features all new originals from Colorado’s four-piece group. Known for their high-energy, improvisational live shows YONDER has pioneered a sound that is their own over the past ten years as a band.
Yonder (Adam Aijala-guitar, Jeff Austin-mandolin, Dave Johnston-banjo and Ben Kaufmann-bass) first came together in September 1998 over a growing love for bluegrass that quite unexpectedly brought the four players together during a free-for-all jam session at The Verve, a bar outside of Boulder, in 1998. Once they met, they knew they were onto something. "It was an eye-opening experience because we heard a unique sound," says Johnston. "Something coalesced that night."

This summer, Bonnie Raitt and Taj Mahal—two leading lights of modern blues—are joining forces for their first-ever tour together. These shows will feature Bonnie and Taj on stage alone and together. Bonnie, backed by her always-dazzling group, and Taj, with the six-piece, Grammy-winning Phantom Blues Band, will play full sets separately, before closing each night with a collaborative, blow-out performance. "This tour is just what the doctor ordered," says Bonnie. "Taj and I have so much in common, but there's so much unexplored territory between us. It's been a long time coming, and now is the right time." "We've been like ships passing in the night," adds Taj. "Some of my musicians used to play with Bonnie, we have so many of the same friends—this is really an opportunity to combine some forces and play some great music."

Crosby, Stills & Nash / Crosby, Stills & Nash |
Red Rocks Amphitheater |
One of the most enduring and original musical partnerships of our time, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers David Crosby, Stephen Stills & Graham Nash – Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) have captivated the world with their peerless three-part harmony vocals, inspired songwriting and brilliant musicianship for over three decades. The only American band of the original Woodstock era to have a societal impact rivaling that of the Beatles, they have been called “the voice of an entire generation.” With an impassioned point of view as personal as it is message-oriented, CSN have always sung about socially relevant issues and universal values. Their songs have chronicled our times and touched the lives of millions of fans of all ages through timeless hits including “Marrakesh Express,” “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” “Helplessly Hoping,” “Guinnevere,” “Teach Your Children,” “Wooden Ships,” “Dark Star,” and “Just A Song Before I Go,” to name just a few. They have, in fact, become the voice of many generations.

The Allman Brothers Band with Railroad Earth |
Red Rocks Amphitheater |
AEG Live is thrilled to announce THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND and RAILROAD EARTH performing live at Red Rocks Amphitheatre Saturday, September 5, 2009.
The Allman Brothers Band blended strains of Southern music — blues, R&B, country, jazz, and gospel — into a flexible, jam-oriented style that reflected the emergence of the "New South" and set the style for Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Marshall Tucker Band, and countless other Southern rockers. Oddly — or eerily, some would say — the band's unusual string of untimely deaths has been repeated in other Southern-rock bands. Through personal tragedy and turmoil, the Allman Brothers Band has endured and, though lacking the commercial clout of its early-'70s heyday, it remains highly respected and well received by legions of fans.

The Killers |
Red Rocks Amphitheater |
The Killers are an American alternative rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2002. The band belongs to the lineage of high-energy rock bands that manage to be both commercially successful and critically acclaimed. The band consists of Brandon Flowers (vocals, keyboards), Dave Keuning (guitar, vocals), Mark Stoermer (bass guitar, vocals) and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (percussion, drums). Flowers first met guitarist Keuning while perusing the classifieds for fellow musicians; when Dave’s ad mentioned The Beatles, Oasis and more, Flowers knew he was on the right track. They claimed the name The Killers (taken from the bass drum of a fictional band in a New Order video), and eventually recruited Stoermer and Vannucci into the fold, all of them agreeing that there seemed to be an intangible something to the music they were making, as well as the response they were generating from people who saw them play. And as these performances became bigger and bigger, praise for the band began to spread rapidly.
Their debut, Hot Fuss, catapulted them onto the global stage selling millions of copies around the world. The band toured for two years straight behind Hot Fuss, playing more than four-hundred shows, and eventually returned to Vegas to begin to work on the follow-up album. The result, a love letter of sorts to their hometown entitled Sam’s Town, was released in 2006 and spent forty-two weeks on the Billboard Top 200. They also release the compilation album Sawdust containing B-sides, rarities, and new material in 2007. Inspiration has never eluded Las Vegas’ The Killers, and it’s a damn good thing it hasn’t, because their third studio album entitled Day & Age, released in November of 2008, is full of their finest songs to date.
